Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) has been confirmed as the Sector Partner for Advanced Infrastructure at the fourth edition of Make it in the Emirates, underscoring the company’s pivotal role in shaping the UAE’s industrial future.

Organized by ADNEC Group and hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, Make it in the Emirates 2025 will take place from May 19 to 22 at the ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi. The event is held in strategic partnership with the Ministry of Culture, the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, and ADNOC.

This year’s expanded edition is set to be the largest yet, featuring over 700 exhibitors and drawing more than 30,000 visitors across 68,000 square meters of exhibition space.

Spanning 12 core industrial sectors, the event serves as a global platform for investment, innovation, and strategic collaboration, further solidifying Abu Dhabi’s position as a hub for industrial transformation.

EGA’s designation as Sector Partner for Advanced Infrastructure reflects its long-standing leadership in industrial development and sustainability. As the UAE’s largest industrial company outside the oil and gas sector and one of the world’s largest aluminium producers, EGA is central to efforts to strengthen domestic manufacturing capabilities and drive industrial self-sufficiency.

For nearly five decades, EGA has played a foundational role in the UAE’s industrial landscape, helping the nation become the world’s fifth-largest aluminium producer and exporting to over 50 countries. The company’s integrated operations — from bauxite mining and alumina refining to smelting and recycling — mirror the event’s focus on advanced, sustainable, and circular manufacturing practices.

In 2024, EGA began development of the UAE’s largest aluminium recycling facility, with a capacity of 170,000 tons per year. This milestone represents a significant step toward circular industrial growth in the country.

The aluminium sector as a whole supports over 52,000 jobs in the UAE, with EGA’s metal used in key industries such as construction, automotive, aerospace, electronics, and packaging.

Approximately 10 percent of EGA’s production is supplied to local manufacturers serving both domestic and global markets.

Key partner for growth

EGA has been a strong supporter of the Make it in the Emirates initiative since its launch. Through its EGA Ramp-Up program, the company has contributed to the creation of more than 1,000 new jobs, fostered local entrepreneurship, and identified potential new UAE-based suppliers.

The 2025 edition of Make it in the Emirates promises to chart a bold vision for the future of manufacturing in the UAE, with EGA playing a leading role in advancing infrastructure and sustainable industrial development.

Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, managing director and group CEO of ADNEC Group, said: “Hosting Make it in the Emirates reflects ADNEC Group’s ongoing commitment to supporting national priorities through our venues and platforms. As a space designed to enable collaboration and growth, ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi brings together key stakeholders across sectors to help advance the UAE’s industrial agenda. The presence of sector partners like EGA adds valuable perspective to the dialogue and reinforces the importance of strong industrial foundations in building a resilient, competitive economy.”

Abdulnasser Bin Kalban, CEO of Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), said: “EGA is the heart of the UAE aluminium sector, one of the UAE’s most important economic sectors. Our metal is the largest UAE export outside oil and gas. Our metal goes into UAE-made products from car parts to construction materials. Aluminium is just one part of our contribution.”

“At EGA, we are focused on further localising our supply chain. Every year, we spend some 40 percent of our global procurement spend here in the UAE – for 2024, that was more than AED 8 billion spent on locally-sourced services and goods. EGA and the aluminium sector accounts for around 1.3 percent to the UAE GDP and supports over 52,400 jobs across the country. At EGA, we are proud to Make it in the Emirates,” Bin Kalban added.
