More than 25 heads of state and government leaders are attending the  World Governments Summit 2024 (WGS) in Dubai. These include Türkiye President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani.

Scheduled to take place on February 12 to 14, 2024, WGS has adopted the theme “Shaping Future Governments.” This year’s edition will have Türkiye, India, and Qatar as guests of honor.

Government best practices on spotlight

Türkiye, India, and Qatar will take center stage at World Governments Summit 2024 as their representatives will showcase their governance best practices. Delegations from all over the world will hear from the guest countries’ successful government experiences and developmental initiatives.

Dubai is expecting more than 4,000 delegates from around the world to attend, including prominent through leaders and experts. These also include representatives of over 85 international and regional organisations with 120 governmental delegations.

UAE Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of WGS Organization, Mohammad Al Gergawi, said that hosting Türkiye, India, and Qatar as this year’s guests of honor is a testament to the deep-rooted ties and strategic partnership that the UAE has with these nations.

Al Gergawi noted that welcoming the three countries as guests of honor comes as part of the summit’s mission, as an influential platform, to showcase the developmental experiences of different governments and promote best practices for a better future for humanity.

World Governments Summit significance

Hosting such a large number of heads of state underscores the significance of WGS as an international platform for cooperation. Over the years, it has paved the way for the acceleration of progress across the world.

This year’s World Governments Summit focuses on six themes and will host 15 global forums. The event will explore future strategies and major transformations in key sectors across 110 interactive dialogues.

Over 200 prominent speakers, including presidents, ministers, and visionaries, will share their insights at the summit. In addition, over 300 ministers are expected to attend 23 ministerial meetings and executive sessions during the event.

Shaping future governments

Since its inception in 2013, World Governments Summit has championed the cause of shaping future governments and creating a better future for humanity. Past editions of the event have served as platforms for inspiring and enabling excellence in government and public service among current as well as future generations of government leaders, officials and public servants.
