The Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) announced the commencement of the trial phase for its innovative e-services portal, “eSAMA.” This new platform, according to a press release, allows individuals, governmental bodies, and businesses to electronically access a range of services offered by SAMA.
This initiative is part of SAMA’s broader digital transformation strategy. The eSAMA portal is designed to automate the services provided to various stakeholders through a cohesive and secure digital platform, streamlining their interactions.
Key features of the eSAMA Portal
During this trial phase, the eSAMA portal features 23 digital services. These include exercising personal data subject rights, applying to participate in the Regulatory Sandbox, requesting access to Open Banking services, and submitting no-objection requests for senior leadership appointments. Additional services will be rolled out in the future.
As highlighted in SAMA’s release, the eSAMA portal aims to offer a digital alternative to traditional transaction methods. This enhancement will improve user experience by enabling faster processing, simplifying access, and implementing state-of-the-art data protection measures.
