Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah Historic District welcomed over 1 million visitors in the first week of Ramadan Season 2025, marking an unprecedented turnout to one of the most prominent Ramadan events in the Kingdom.

Organized by the Jeddah Historic District Program under the Ministry of Culture, this season seeks to revive cultural heritage and promote Saudi identity through a variety of Ramadan-themed activities. Visitors can expect immersive experiences, including tours of historical houses, traditional food and markets, craft workshops and family-friendly events. Heritage markets provide a platform for local entrepreneurs to showcase their products, stimulating the local economy.

Ramadan in Saudi Arabia

This year, the Ministry of Culture is hosting Ramadan Season 2025 in cities nationwide. The initiative features cultural and community events highlighting Ramadan’s heritage and Saudi traditions. Under the slogan “Our Nights Have Returned,” the ministry has decorated roads and public spaces with lights and installations. Key locations in Riyadh and Jeddah, including Al Ghadeer Walkway, Olaya Street and the Jeddah Corniche, have been illuminated.

The Jeddah Historic District is hosting key events, including a historical houses area with restaurants and cafes offering unique Iftar and Suhoor experiences. “Balad Stalls” will provide a food destination with stalls, trucks and seating. Visitors can also enjoy a unique blend of culture, arts, traditional markets and heritage cuisine at Ramadan Season 2025. Exploration tours across the district reveal ancient architectural heritage, while markets showcase local products and traditional foods.

Visitor numbers are expected to rise in the coming weeks as Ramadan events continue, solidifying the status of the Jeddah Historic District as a premier destination during the holy month.
