Kuwait has launched a new, streamlined tourist visa system designed to accommodate travelers of varying nationalities and purposes, featuring four distinct categories. The first category consists of single-entry visas, which permit stays of 30, 60, or 90 days, according to the Government Information Center.Â
The second category offers multiple-entry visas valid for three months, six months, or one year, each allowing 30-day stays per entry. The government aims to balance accessibility with regulation in order to boost tourism while maintaining oversight of visitor flows.
The third category, intended for other nationalities, will soon be introduced and requires proof of financial solvency and guarantees. The fourth category focuses on event-specific visas for visitors attending conferences, festivals, or other activities, with tailored conditions. Furthermore, Kuwait has implemented an e-visa platform that allows applicants to obtain visas online without the need to visit residency offices.
E-visa platform launch
Kuwait’s new streamlined visa system is complemented by an easy-to-use e-visa platform launched in July 2025, allowing visitors to apply online without embassy visits or paperwork. The platform offers four main visa categories: tourist, family visit, business, and official visas, each facilitating stays up to 90 days or tailored to the visit purpose. This digital transformation is part of Kuwait’s Vision 2035 initiative to simplify travel and enhance accessibility. Applicants can complete the entire process online, including form submission, document upload, and payment, receiving their e-visa via email for convenient entry.
