MODON unveils SAR538 million industrial cities development plan
Plan includes establishing 80 factories in Al-Ahsa and Taif's industrial cities

The Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON) has unveiled an ambitious plan for 10 development projects across six industrial cities with a substantial investment of over SAR538 million. In collaboration with state-owned companies, these projects aim to create opportunities for value chain initiatives and enhance local content, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030 objectives.

Empowering entrepreneurs

As part of these development projects, MODON has inked a contract for establishing 80 factories in Al-Ahsa and Taif’s industrial cities. The projects also include the MODON Oasis in Al-Ahsa. Ranging from 350 to 450 square meters, these spaces aim to support operations of small businesses. They empower entrepreneurs and SME owners to contribute significantly to Saudi Arabia’s GDP.

Moreover, MODON has finalized three contracts for constructing advanced infrastructure covering an area exceeding 5.7 million square meters. The projects fall under the expansion of the Hail Industrial City and Al-Madina Al-Munawwara Industrial City. These efforts are geared towards sustaining production processes and meeting the industry’s quality standards within these industrial hubs.

Enhanced services

Furthermore, MODON has implemented contracts for the medium and low-voltage networks in Taif Industrial City to improve basic services. It has also signed a contract to establish a conversion plant in the Tabuk Industrial City. These initiatives solidify efforts to bolster operational efficiency and production capacity. Moreover, they address key aspects of industrial development.

Connectivity and security

In a bid to improve connectivity, MODON has signed a road contract linking the Dammam Third Industrial City and the King Salman Energy Park (SPARK). This move aims for seamless integration, leveraging SPARK’s logistical services and the upcoming dry port. Additionally, MODON has committed to fortifying the security of industrial cities and surrounding communities by establishing a civil defense station.

Continuing its mission to develop integrated infrastructure, MODON provides upgraded land and prefabricated factory products across its industrial cities. These efforts align with its goal of balanced development, leveraging geographical, human, and structural advantages while fostering private sector participation and sustainable economic growth.

Elevating the investment landscape

As the entity responsible for integrated industrial land development, MODON aims to elevate the investment landscape to meet the Quality of Life program standards. It has over 209 million square meters of developed areas, 6,443 factories, and 1,323 ready-made factories. Thus, MODON stands among the world’s largest industrial cities. It leverages its industrial, investment, and logistical assets to contribute to Saudi Arabia’s development. The current initiative is a testament to MODON’s commitment to empowering entrepreneurship, stimulating SME growth, and contributing to sustainable economic development in Saudi Arabia.
