Sindalah, the opulent island destination and inaugural physical representation of NEOM, has been officially revealed by the NEOM Board of Directors. Announced in December 2022 by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and NEOM Board Chairman, Sindalah’s launch signifies a pivotal moment in NEOM’s development.

Two-year transformation

In a press release, NEOM detailed that the transformation of Sindalah from concept to reality resulted from an extensive two-year effort, involving a peak workforce of 30,000 across four local contracting partners and up to 60 subcontractors. This achievement is a crucial advancement in realizing the Kingdom’s tourism aspirations as outlined in Saudi Vision 2030, further demonstrating NEOM’s capability to create and deliver innovative and appealing destinations. To commemorate this milestone, Sindalah has welcomed its first invited guests to experience the island’s charm.

Stunning location

Nestled in the sparkling blue waters of the Red Sea, Sindalah is located just five kilometers from the NEOM coastline in northwest Saudi Arabia. It is described as a unique luxury resort destination that covers 840,000 square meters.

Sindalah is strategically located 17 hours by sea from major Mediterranean hubs. It is set to become NEOM’s gateway to the Red Sea. This will provide convenient access for yacht owners from Europe, Saudi Arabia, and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

With its strategic location and year-round pleasant climate, Sindalah will feature a state-of-the-art marina with 86 berths, heralding a new era of sailing. Moreover, future guests will have the opportunity to choose from a selection of stunning accommodations, including 440 rooms, 88 villas, and 218 luxury serviced apartments.

Sindalah Yacht Club

Early in October, NEOM launched the exceptional interior designs for the Sindalah Yacht Club, celebrating the elegance and grandeur of this iconic landmark at the Sindalah Island marina, set to open later this year. This club is further the result of a collaboration with esteemed Italian designer Stefano Ricci. As NEOM’s first marine club, the Sindalah Yacht Club spans an impressive 1,800 square meters and occupies a prime location on Sindalah Island, the first island developed within this visionary project. Members can enjoy a private lounge offering exquisite dishes and fine Italian cuisine.
