The NEOM giga-project and hospitality company Equinox Hotels have announced plans to open a luxury resort on the coast of the Gulf of Aqaba as part of NEOM’s recently unveiled Magna development.

In June, NEOM introduced the Magna destination, which will feature 12 locations along 120 km of coastline. Magna is part of NEOM’s sustainable portfolio and will include 15 hotels, 1,600 rooms, and over 2,500 residences. Additionally, the development is expected to create 15,000 jobs, contribute SAR2.6 billion ($693.1 million) to Saudi Arabia’s GDP by 2030, house 14,500 residents, and attract 300,000 annual visitors, offering a unique investment opportunity focused on sustainability.

Equinox Resort Treyam

Equinox Resort Treyam will occupy one of the 12 Magna locations. Equinox Hotels CEO Christopher Norton expressed excitement about the partnership, saying “NEOM embodies the future of luxury hospitality, and Equinox Hotels is thrilled to create an unparalleled resort experience within this visionary destination.” He further added that the resort will “serve as the model for transformative luxury, activating the entire destination with experiences that only Equinox Hotels can offer.”

Innovative resort design

Moreover, the Equinox Resort Treyam will feature a 450-meter-long, 40-meter-elevated bridge-like structure over a lagoon. Also, Magna Executive Director Jeremy Lester said the Equinox partnership “will redefine sustainable hospitality with a focus on truly immersive experiences and active lifestyles.”

Furthermore, Newman said that the resort offers “distinctive and inspiring experiences” that will “enhance [guests’] well-being, elevate their journey, and support a high-performance lifestyle.”
