Oman’s Ministry of Labour has reported significant progress in its employment plan for the first half of 2024, achieving a 54 percent success rate. This comprehensive plan, encompassing both public and private sectors, has resulted in the placement of 14,074 individuals into new roles.
The public sector has seen 6,963 individuals employed, representing 69.63 percent of the 10,000 target. Meanwhile, the private sector has achieved 7,111 placements, reaching 44.44 percent of its 16,000 target.

Alongside direct employment, the Ministry has also made notable strides in training programs linked to employment. Moreover, in the public sector, 305 individuals have completed training, representing 15.25 percent of the 2,000 planned completions. The private sector has witnessed 1,107 training completions, reaching 15.81 percent of its 7,000 target.
Combining direct employment and training, the Ministry has achieved a total of 15,486 placements, representing 44.25 percent of the overall plan target of 35,000.
The Ministry of Labour has highlighted the importance of these efforts in creating sustainable job opportunities and fostering a strong partnership with the private sector. These initiatives are a key component of a broader strategy aimed at regulating the labor market, strengthening the national workforce, and supporting the goals of Oman Vision 2040.
