Qatar Airways received its first new Airbus aircraft in over two and a half years. The delivery flight was a significant event, with an A350-1000 flying from Toulouse to Doha. This latest addition is the airline’s 20th A350-1000 and 54th A350 in total.

The arrival of the A350-1000 in Doha marks a significant step towards normalizing relations between Qatar Airways and Airbus. Although Airbus conducts many aircraft deliveries each week, this one is noteworthy because it’s the first delivery of a new Airbus jet to the airline in over two years. Throughout 2021 and 2022, the two parties were involved in a contentious legal dispute over the safety of the A350 jetliner. The dispute resulted in Airbus canceling outstanding and undelivered orders from Qatar Airways, prompting the airline to sign a substantial agreement with Boeing.

Qatar Airways’ Airbus A350-1000s are designed to accommodate a total of 327 passengers, with 281 seats in the economy class and 46 seats in the business class. Notably, the business class cabin features the highly acclaimed QSuite, which provides passengers with a greater level of privacy than standard business class flatbeds.

Given the lengthy flight time, the exceptional comfort provided by the QSuite is sure to be appreciated by business-class passengers.

QSuites is Qatar Airways’ premium business-class product, which was first introduced in 2017. Its standout features include individual sliding doors for each seat, providing maximum privacy, and double beds in the center section for couples traveling together. QSuites is available on various aircraft types, such as the Airbus A350-1000, Boeing 777-200LR, and Boeing 777-300ER.

As of April 2023, Qatar Airways’ fleet consisted of 19 Airbus A350-1000s, all of which are equipped with QSuites. The airline also operates nine Boeing 777-200LRs, with seven of them featuring QSuites.
