Red Sea Global signs agreement to drive eco-friendly mobility solutions at luxury destinations

Red Sea Global (RSG), the developer behind The Red Sea and AMAALA destinations, has forged a strategic collaboration with Hyundai Motor Group to deploy eco-friendly mobility solutions within RSG’s luxury resorts in Saudi Arabia. The partnership aims to pioneer innovative future mobility solutions and their implementation to drive sustainability.

John Pagano, Group CEO of Red Sea Global, and Dongkun Lee, head of the future growth strategy sub-division at Hyundai Motor Group, signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Red Sea Global headquarters in Riyadh.

RSG and Hyundai will jointly explore potential opportunities across various fields. In the short term, both parties will concentrate on validating and deploying Hyundai’s eco-friendly mobility solutions. This includes battery electric and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. Looking ahead, the collaboration aims to explore future mobility solutions such as autonomous vehicles, advanced air mobility, and maritime vessels.

Commitment to sustainability

Hyundai Motor Group’s comprehensive eco-friendly business portfolio ranges from individual mobility solutions to extensive charging infrastructure. Therefore, its collaboration with RSG will boost the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and support its goals of achieving net-zero emissions by 2060. By leveraging Hyundai’s comprehensive eco-friendly business portfolio and RSG’s visionary developments, the collaboration aims to accelerate the country’s transition to a green economy.

Commenting on the agreement, Lee stated: “This partnership signifies our shared commitment to a sustainable and innovative mobility future for humanity. We will accelerate the validations and explore more long-term goals to build a greener and smarter ecosystem in the region.”

RSG’s developments

Last year, RSG’s The Red Sea welcomed its first guests, with the Red Sea International Airport facilitating regular domestic flights since September 2023. Moreover, international flights at the airport are set to commence soon. Besides, two of the destination’s hotels are open, with three more on track to open this year. Additionally, Thuwal Private Retreat will also open this year. Meanwhile, AMAALA remains on track to welcome its first guests in 2025.
