The Saudi Ground Services Company (SGS) has entered into a five-year strategic partnership in Riyadh with daa International, the operator of Red Sea International Airport, to deliver ground handling services for all airlines at the airport. This collaboration is committed to upholding the highest operational standards while prioritizing environmental sustainability practices, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The agreement was signed by SGS CEO Mohammed Mazi and Red Sea International Airport CEO Andrew Tyler-Smith, in the presence of John Pagano, CEO of Red Sea Global—the airport’s developer—along with various senior executives and professionals from the aviation and airport services sectors.
Mazi remarked that this collaboration to provide ground handling services at Red Sea International Airport represents one of the Kingdom’s flagship initiatives that embody its aspirations in tourism and sustainable development. He highlighted that servicing new airports like the Red Sea emphasizes the company’s dedication to actively supporting the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and enhancing the integrated air transport and tourism framework.
Moreover, Tyler-Smith noted that the alliance with SGS fortifies the operational and sustainability foundations of Red Sea International Airport. He elaborated that, under this agreement, SGS will take charge of passenger services within the terminal and manage all apron operations, including aircraft marshalling, pushback, towing, ground power delivery, and baggage handling. These offerings will position Red Sea International Airport as one of the most competitive airports in the Kingdom concerning service quality.
