The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) has revealed the launch of two new lines for the Riyadh Metro: the Red Line, which runs along King Abdullah Road, and the Green Line, which follows King Abdulaziz Road. Passengers can access the stations on these lines from 6:00 am until midnight. Now, five out of the six metro lines are fully operational.
Details of the Red Line
The Red Line spans 25.1 kilometers, extending from east to west along King Abdullah Road. It connects King Fahd Sports City to King Saud University, featuring 15 stations, including the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center. This line intersects with the Blue Line at the STC Station, the Green Line at the Ministry of Education Station, and the Purple Line at Al Hamra Station.
Overview of the Green Line
On the other hand, the Green Line, which runs along King Abdulaziz Road, measures 13.3 kilometers. It stretches from King Abdullah Road, passing the Ministry of Education, all the way to the National Museum. This line includes 12 stations that serve various government entities, such as the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Commerce, along with numerous commercial, service, and residential facilities.

Station accessibility and future operations
All stations on the Green Line were opened to the public on December 15, with the exception of the Ministry of Finance and National Museum stations, which will become operational at a later date. The Green Line intersects with the Red Line at the Ministry of Education Station and with the Blue Line at the National Museum Station.
Upcoming expansion of the metro network
As per the previously announced rollout schedule, the Orange Line, which covers Madinah Road, is set to open on January 5, 2025, thereby completing the Riyadh Metro network. Passengers can easily locate their destinations and purchase tickets via the “Darb” mobile application or directly at the Riyadh Metro stations.
