According to reports, Cristiano Ronaldo, the renowned football icon, is set to leave Saudi Arabia soon. The president of his former club, Real Madrid, Florentino Perez, has reportedly offered him an ambassadorial role at the club.

El Nacional stated that the 38-year-old Portugal international won’t be staying in Saudi Arabia for much longer, having moved to the Saudi Arabia Professional League’s Al Nassr club in January after a falling out with Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag. Prior to joining the Saudi side, Ronaldo attempted to secure a return to Real Madrid.

According to the Catalan digital newspaper, Ronaldo has made the decision to depart Saudi Arabia due to difficulties adjusting to the local culture and facing obstacles due to the language barrier.

If the report is accurate, Ronaldo will soon be returning to the Spanish capital, which was his home from 2009 to 2018. Madrid President Florentino Perez has promised him that he will have plenty to do at the Santiago Bernabeu and will not be left without work.

During his time at the Bernabeu, the former Manchester United and Juventus player scored 450 goals and provided 131 assists in 438 games. Ronaldo recently signed a two-and-a-half-season deal with Saudi’s Al-Nassr football club, who are reportedly paying him 200 million euros ($218 million) annually, according to The Guardian and transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano.
