Red Sea Global (RSG) and Zain KSA are introducing the world’s first zero-carbon 5G network at the Six Senses Southern Dunes resort at the Red Sea. This innovative 5G network is designed to provide high-speed connectivity, powered entirely by renewable energy from over 760,000 solar panels. This initiative is part of RSG’s sustainable energy infrastructure covering the expansive 28,000 km2 destination.

RSG’s CEO, John Pagano, emphasizes their commitment to regenerative tourism and sustainability. He commented, “We aspire to be global pioneers of regenerative tourism development, adopting 100% renewable energy at our flagship destination, The Red Sea, and working towards the achievement of a 30% net conservation benefit by 2040.” He praised the partnership with Zain KSA, stating it extended beyond telecommunications into environmental protection and sustainability.

The 5G network’s towers are built using advanced 3D printing technology. Their construction align with three main objectives: preserving the environment, minimizing emissions through renewable energy, and mitigating visual disruption. These towers harmoniously blend with the distinctive landscape of The Red Sea, mirroring natural rock formations. CEO of Zain KSA, Eng. Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Al-Deghaither, expressed pride in their collaboration with RSG, highlighting their shared goal of balancing human development and nature preservation as outlined in Saudi Vision 2030.

The Red Sea, set to open to guests soon, will comprise 50 resorts with thousands of hotel rooms and residential properties spread across islands and inland sites. The destination will also offer luxury marinas, golf courses, entertainment, dining, and leisure facilities.

The collaboration between RSG and Zain KSA exemplifies the potential of combining advanced technology and sustainability. RSG is creating transformative experiences for visitors while prioritizing environmental protection. Saudi Arabia has supported numerous firsts, and this is just one of them. Saudi ACWA is investing Central Asia’s largest wind energy farm, located in Uzbekistan.
