The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development in Saudi Arabia declared that amendments to the Labor Regulations will take effect on Wednesday, following Council of Ministers Decision No. 117 dated February 2, 1446 A.H. (2024) and Royal Decree No. 44 dated February 8, 2024. These changes aim to enhance job stability and improve labor market efficiency to address the needs of the private sector.

Key changes in labor regulations

As per the Ministry’s announcement, the new amendments involve modifications to 38 articles of the regulations, the removal of 7 articles, and the introduction of two new articles. These changes are further designed to develop contractual relations between employers, safeguard their rights, and create a more appealing and stable working environment, aligning with the labor market strategy.

Supporting Vision 2030 objectives

Moreover, the Ministry stressed that these amendments are integral to ongoing efforts to fulfill the goals of Vision 2030. This includes fostering national economy.
