Qiddiya, the massive real estate project in Saudi Arabia, has revealed a new collaboration with the prestigious esports tournament, Esports World Cup. This partnership spans three years and will have significant implications for the Qiddiya Gaming & Esports District.
Once construction is finalized, this district will serve as the official venue for the Esports World Cup.
Additionally, in 2024, Qiddiya City will take on the role of presenting partner for two key components of the Esports World Cup: the Elite Player Lounge and the Qiddiya Esports Arena.

In an announcement, it was revealed that the Elite Player Lounge will serve as a dedicated space for EWC players to train, unwind, socialize, and get ready for their matches. Additionally, Qiddiya Gaming will have designated areas near the EWC competition venues to showcase the Gaming & Esports District, providing a preview of what the project has to offer.
The inaugural Esports World Cup is scheduled to be held later this year in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Both Qiddiya and the Esports World Cup Foundation are initiatives backed by the Saudi Arabian government.
Qiddiya’s gaming district was officially launched in December 2023, coinciding with the appointment of former Team Liquid COO Mike Milanov as the head of esports and gaming development for the project. The entertainment-focused real estate venture in Riyadh was initially introduced in 2019.
Diversifying Saudi Arabia’s economy
Qiddiya, in alignment with the Esports World Cup, is part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 program, aimed at diversifying the country’s economy. Saudi Arabia has made substantial investments in esports, including the acquisition and formation of the ESL FACEIT Group.
In addition to its partnership with the Esports World Cup, the Qiddiya Gaming & Esports District has introduced the “Elite Esports Bootcamps.” These state-of-the-art facilities can accommodate up to 20 different esports organizations simultaneously and are specifically designed to facilitate training and preparation for competitive esports teams.
