Saudi Arabia recorded a 3.1 percent rise in the Industrial Production Index (IPI) for April 2025, as reported by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) in today’s release.
According to the bulletin, the mining and quarrying sub-index experienced a year-on-year increase of 0.2 percent, while the manufacturing sub-index recorded a significant growth of 7.4 percent.
The bulletin also noted a slight decrease of 0.2 percent in the sub-index for electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply activities. In contrast, the sub-index for water supply, sewage, waste management, and treatment activities saw an impressive increase of 8.8 percent compared to April of the previous year.

Key economic activities
Based on key economic activities, the bulletin further highlighted a 4.3 percent year-on-year increase in the index for oil-related activities in April 2025, alongside a modest rise of 0.1 percent in the index for non-oil activities.
GASTAT publishes the IPI monthly to assess relative changes in industrial production volumes. This index is derived from data collected through the Industrial Production Survey, which targets a sample of establishments operating in specific industrial sectors, including mining and quarrying; manufacturing; electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply; as well as water supply, sewage, waste management, and treatment activities.
