WEF Special Meeting 2024
Last year, the WEF special meeting in Saudi Arabia focused on global collaboration, growth and energy. The meeting convened over 700 global leaders from the public and private sectors, international organizations, NGOs, academia, and civil society to foster dialogues and revive international cooperation.
“This is a testament to the global platform for dialogue, collaboration, and innovation, that Saudi Arabia has become, and that the World Economic Forum continues to be. The meeting represents a significant opportunity to further unite the world in capturing the immense potential that lies ahead,” added Alibrahim.
The WEF Special Meeting on Global Collaboration, Growth and Energy for Development, advanced key Forum initiatives in the region and beyond. It sought to bridge the growing North-South divide, which has further widened on issues such as emerging economic policies, the energy transition and geopolitical shocks.
Global cooperation for economic development
The WEF Special Meeting in Saudi Arabia enabled a comprehensive dialogue on leveraging global cooperation for economic development, promoting a global energy transition that underpins sustainable development and furthering technological advancement, and supporting the Forum’s work to shape a more equitable and resilient global economy.
“In this critical juncture for a global economy, we are not only inspired by the opportunities before us but also deeply confident that our collective efforts will forge a brighter, more inclusive, and more prosperous future for all. We look forward to welcoming the global community again in Saudi Arabia in the spring of 2026,” added Alibrahim.
