Saudi Arabia’s low-cost carrier flynas is gearing up to launch eight new direct destinations and routes between the Kingdom and the UAE in the beginning of September. This massive expansion will make flynas the only Saudi airline serving the major four airports in the UAE by increasing the frequency of flynas flights between the two countries to more than 20 daily flights.

The UAE market expansion falls in line flynas’ growth plans, which align with Saudi Arabia’s National Civil Aviation Strategy that seeks to connect the Kingdom with 250 international destinations, accommodate 330 million passengers, and host 150 million tourists annually by 2030. Furthermore, the expansion into the UAE market supports the Pilgrim Experience Program (PEP) to facilitate access to the two holy mosques.

The airline currently operates flights to Dubai International Airport from Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Madinah. flynas will also add three more destinations in the UAE, including Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai, Shaikh Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah International Airport.

flynas expands operations globally

Last July, flynas signed an agreement to purchase 160 new aircraft from Airbus, including 30 wide-body planes, to increase its aircraft purchase orders to 280 planes, making it one of the largest aircraft purchase orders in the region.

This expansion serves the aviation sector’s growth in the Kingdom and the Saudi Vision 2030 programs. Moreover, it contributes to achieving the airline’s ambitious growth and expansion plan launched under the slogan “We connect the world to the Kingdom”, in addition to consolidating flynas position among the top four low-cost airlines in the world.

flynas currently connects more than 70 domestic and international destinations with more than 1,500 weekly flights. The airline has flown more than 80 million passengers since its launch in 2007, with the aim to reach 165 domestic and international destinations, in line with the objectives of the Vision 2030.
