During a recent Cabinet session chaired in Jeddah by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, several major decisions were made.
An agreement was approved between the government of Saudi Arabia and the government of the Italian Republic regarding the mutual exemption from short-stay visa requirements for holders of diplomatic, special, or service passports, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
Furthermore, the Cabinet authorized the Minister of Foreign Affairs, or a deputy, to engage in negotiations with the Russian side concerning a draft agreement for mutual exemption from entry visas for citizens of both countries, and to sign this agreement. A memorandum of understanding was also approved between the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, focusing on Islamic affairs.
The Cabinet also authorized the Minister of Interior, or a deputy, to sign a draft cooperation agreement between the government of Saudi Arabia and the government of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria aimed at combating organized crime.

Cooperation in mineral resources with Zambia
The Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, or a deputy, was authorized to negotiate and sign a draft agreement with the International Consultative Group on Agricultural Research to promote sustainability and innovation within the agricultural sector in the Kingdom. Additionally, a memorandum of understanding was approved for cooperation in mineral resources between the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Mines and Mineral Development of Zambia.

The Cabinet also authorized the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, or a deputy, to complete the necessary procedures for the Kingdom’s accession to the Integrated Industrial Partnership for Sustainable Economic Development. An amendment was approved to change the name of the Supreme National Investment Committee of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs to the “National Investment Committee of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs.” Lastly, the Cabinet approved a mechanism for registering and verifying the biometric data of individuals arriving in and departing from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia via cruise ships.
