Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman has announced the establishment of the Riyadh Non-Profit Foundation and the formation of its board of directors.
The Royal Commission for Riyadh City has decided to create the Foundation’s Board of Directors. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Chairman of the Royal Commission, will lead the Foundation’s board. Eng. Ibrahim Al-Sultan, the CEO of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, will take on the role of vice president and secretary general of the new board.
Mission and objectives
The Foundation’s mission is to support and promote institutional and social initiatives in all their forms, while fostering research, studies, and social activities. It aims to enhance community involvement in the development of non-profit sector programs aligned with its objectives, and to strengthen the culture and values of social work. According to a statement from the Foundation reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), this initiative represents a groundbreaking step toward advancing social development and innovation within the non-profit sector.

Commitment to social development
The Foundation is further dedicated to achieving social development by empowering all segments of society, promoting social cohesion, and preserving the cultural identity of Riyadh. Additionally, it will collaborate with government entities and non-profit organizations to create job opportunities in the social sector.
Aspiration for regional and global leadership
Furthermore, the Foundation aspires to become a regional and global leader in financing, designing, and launching innovative social programs, with a focus on healthcare, education, arts, culture, and environmental sustainability. It aims to enhance the quality of life and promote social development in the Kingdom through the establishment of an integrated and interconnected system. The Foundation will also work to set up research centers and incubators for social projects, increase community participation, manage affiliated entities efficiently, and improve their performance in alignment with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals and priorities.

Moreover, the board members of the Foundation include: Minister of Sports Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal; Minister of Culture Prince Badr bin Abdullah; Mayor of Riyadh Region Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf; Minister of Finance Mohammed Al-Jadaan; Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Eng. Ahmed Al-Rajhi; Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al-Khateeb; Minister of Health Fahd Al-Jalajel; Minister of Education Yousef Al-Bunyan; and Advisor to the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers Fahd Al-Rasheed.
