Saudi NEOM has entered into a partnership with a prominent Saudi construction and engineering firm to establish and manage a ready-mix concrete facility valued at SAR700 million ($186.4 million)

In a press release, NEOM announced that this multi-plant concrete production facility will play a vital role in the construction of THE LINE, the linear city currently under development in NEOM.

Nadhmi Al-Nasr, CEO of NEOM, mentioned that the launch of these concrete plants is yet another indication of the swift advancements taking place at NEOM. He highlighted the robustness of the Kingdom’s construction sector and emphasized the essential role that local collaborations have in delivering this transformative project effectively and sustainably.

This state-of-the-art concrete production facility will feature carbon capture and utilization (CCU) technology, along with energy-efficient solutions, primarily supporting the construction of THE LINE. As concrete is a fundamental material for both the substructure and superstructure of THE LINE, the new factory has assembled a fleet of support vehicles and is set to begin operations next month. Peak production is projected to commence in 2025, with the facility anticipated to create over 500 local jobs.

The release noted that the establishment of the plant coincides with the rapid progress on THE LINE, mentioning that work on the foundation piles is underway, with nearly 1,000 of the more than 30,000 piles already installed.
