NEOM, Saudi’s visionary $500 billion sustainable giga-project in the country’s northwest region, adds a new landmark development to its portfolio. As announced by its board of directors, Epicon will rise as a luxury coastal tourism destination complete with a residential offering.
Tourism and residential marvel
Bound to be a standout in NEOM’s desert landscape, along the Gulf of Aqaba, Epicon will feature two towers that will stand at 225 and 275 meters. These architectural marvels will house an ultra-premium 41-key hotel and luxury residences consisting of 14 suites and apartments. A nearby Epicon resort will complement the towers. In particular, it will boast 120 rooms and 45 residential beach villas.
As a whole, this project will serve as a gateway to the future of eco-friendly and luxury coastal tourism. Guests and residents will be in for a truly immersive experience, gaining access to world-class facilities that include pools, lounges, workspaces, a library and a gym. Bespoke wellness treatments, watersports, and culinary adventures will also be part of the experience that Epicon will provide.

Sustainable developments
NEOM unveiling Epicon follows the launch of Leyja, which is another sustainable development. It will comprise three hotels with 120 boutique rooms and suites, with 40 keys each. Combining modern conveniences with nature-inspired design, the structures will wind through a natural valley surrounded by 400-meter-high mountains.
As part of Saudi’s efforts to diversify its economy, the government launched the NEOM project back in October 2017. Spanning 26,500 square kilometers, this futuristic and autonomous development includes more notable projects, such as the LINE, Trojena, Hexagon and the Sindalah luxury island.
With emphasis on sustainability, Saudi ramps up its efforts to bolster its tourism sector.
“Since embarking on our tourism journey, Saudi Arabia has been committed to enhancing the sector and generating an impact that extends beyond borders,” said Tourism Minister Ahmed Al-Khateeb during this year’s World Tourism Day celebrations held in Riyadh.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Zurab Pololikashvili described the country as a “must-see destination.” He is the secretary general of the United Nations World Tourism Organization.
According to estimates, the local tourism sector could reach $93.4 billion this year. By 2030, Saudi eyes to welcome over 100 million visitors every year.
