stc group, Saudi Arabia’s leading digital enabler, announced the launch of a pioneering AI-driven system to ensure service continuity for the immense traffic network expected of the 1446 Hajj season.
This smart network integrates mobile field solutions with a unified command center, leveraging proactive data analytics and predictive models to guarantee seamless connectivity for pilgrims. The innovative model is designed to shift from traditional operations to a proactive, automated management system that can intelligently respond to any operational event. The system automatically redistributes network loads and routes traffic to pre-planned alternatives, ensuring uninterrupted service even during sudden outages or emergencies. This network is supported by a virtual “digital brain”—a unified control center linking Makkah and Riyadh that monitors thousands of operational indicators in real-time to make instant, data-driven decisions.
Extensive field presence
An extensive field presence in the holy sites complements the digital infrastructure. stc has deployed a fleet of mobile communication hubs, which act as fully equipped mobile centers that can be activated on demand. The readiness of these units is tested periodically to ensure maximum flexibility and reliability.
To oversee this integrated system, stc has mobilized over 1,000 operational experts. They are supported by a field fleet of 200 vehicles, 85 maintenance centers, and more than 100 rapid-intervention scooters to ensure swift on-the-ground response.
Saudi Arabia leads with stc’s advanced digital deployment
With this deployment, Saudi Arabia is positioned among the leading countries globally in applying advanced digital readiness and business continuity solutions at such a scale and complexity. This achievement, aligned with the highest international standards such as ISO 22301, reflects stc group’s commitment to supporting the national vision for digital empowerment and provides a secure, stable communication experience for all pilgrims.
