32 teams participated in the 22nd Qatar World Cup, which is being held for the first time in an Arab nation. During the first round’s 48 matches, these teams managed to score 120 goals, with the fifth group’s teams scoring the most goals with a total of 22 goals, followed by the eighth group with 17 goals.

The first group scored 15 goals, the second and seventh saw 16 goals, and the third netted 12 goals. With only 11 goals for each group, the teams in the fourth and sixth groups scored the fewest goals.
