The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) in Saudi Arabia has issued its monthly report on the performance of the Kingdom’s domestic and international airports for March 2025, based on 11 key performance indicators. The report aligns with GACA’s strategic objectives to enhance services provided to passengers, improve service quality, and elevate the overall passenger experience at the Kingdom’s airports.
The report highlighted King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Jizan, Al-Ahsa International Airport, and Al-Gurayat Airport as the top-performing airports. The airports were categorized into five distinct groups.
International airports with over 15 million passengers
In the first category for international airports with more than 15 million annual passengers, King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh took the lead with 82 percent compliance, surpassing King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, which ranked second with 73 percent compliance.
International airports with 5 to 15 million passengers
In the second category for international airports hosting 5 to 15 million annual passengers, King Fahd International Airport in Dammam secured the top spot with 91 percent compliance, while Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport recorded 82 percent compliance.
International airports with 2 to 5 million passengers
The third category focused on international airports with two to five million annual passengers, where King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Jizan achieved first place with 100 percent compliance. Abha International Airport also reached 100 percent compliance, although King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Jizan excelled in average waiting times for both arrival and departure flights.

International airports with fewer than 2 million passengers
In the fourth category for international airports with fewer than two million annual passengers, Al-Ahsa International Airport ranked first with 100 percent compliance, outpacing other airports in average waiting times for arrival and departure flights.
Domestic airports performance
In the fifth category for domestic airports, Al-Gurayat Airport achieved first place with 100 percent compliance, surpassing all competing airports in terms of average waiting times for arrival and departure flights.
Evaluation criteria for airport performance
GACA’s airport performance evaluation is based on 11 key performance indicators, which include passenger waiting times during travel procedures, time spent at baggage claim, and performance in immigration and customs areas. The report also emphasizes standards related to passengers with disabilities, ensuring adherence to the best global practices.
