H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Marco Rubio, U.S. secretary of State, during a working visit to the U.S. capital, Washington DC.
Rubio warmly welcomed H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed and the accompanying delegation, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported. The meeting, held at the headquarters of the U.S. Department of State, concentrated on the strategic ties between the two nations and examined methods to advance them in support of their mutual interests.
The two ministers discussed pathways for bilateral cooperation across various developmental sectors, particularly in the fields of economic, commercial, scientific, advanced technology, and artificial intelligence.

Discussions also included the state visit of U.S. President Donald Trump to the UAE in May, with both sides affirming that the outcomes of the visit reflected the strength of UAE-U.S. relations and their collective determination to deepen cooperation and expand partnership across all domains.

Commitment to mutual prosperity
Sheikh Abdullah commended the enduring strategic partnership between the UAE and the United States, emphasizing that the U.S. remains a vital strategic ally. He expressed the UAE’s commitment to work collaboratively with the U.S. to further enhance this exceptional relationship in a manner that promotes greater prosperity and sustainable development for both nations and their peoples.
During the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed and Marco Rubio also addressed overall regional developments.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah reaffirmed the UAE’s eagerness to collaborate with the United States and regional and international partners in promoting peace and stability, as well as in nurturing the values of coexistence and human fraternity within societies.
The meeting was attended by Yousef Al Otaiba, UAE ambassador to the U.S; Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, UAE assistant minister for Political Affairs; Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, UAE assistant minister for Economic and Trade Affairs; and Dr. Maha Taysir Barakat, UAE assistant minister for Medical Affairs and Life Sciences at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
