The Africa Debate – UAE will convene global corporations, public and private investment entities, thought leaders, and policymakers for a series of discussions aimed at enhancing trade and investment ties between the UAE and Africa in 2024 and the upcoming years.

UAE’s commitment to African markets

This event reflects the UAE’s commitment to strengthening its economic and trade relationships with African nations, as the UAE stands as the largest investor from the GCC in Africa. The forum previously enjoyed 10 successful editions in London before making its way to the UAE.

Juma Al Kait, assistant undersecretary for International Trade Affairs at the UAE Ministry of Economy, emphasized the UAE’s recognition of Africa’s strategic importance as a vital trade and investment partner. He highlighted that by partnering with Invest Africa, the UAE seeks to deepen its engagement with African markets and uncover new avenues for economic collaboration. Al Kait mentioned that “The Africa Debate” has established itself as a leading platform for promoting initiatives and investments focused on Africa. He expressed anticipation for hosting over 300 vetted industry leaders to further strengthen UAE-Africa partnerships and foster mutual growth.

Commitment from Invest Africa

Chantelé Carrington, chief executive officer of Invest Africa, stated that the partnership with the UAE Ministry of Economy underscores their commitment to fostering effective business linkages and promoting trade and mutual investment between the UAE and Africa. She noted that “The Africa Debate – UAE” would showcase investment opportunities and serve as a valuable platform for dialogue and cooperation, particularly given that the UAE is the fourth largest global investor in Africa. Carrington expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with UAE government partners to enhance business connections across the continent, especially during this pivotal phase of Africa’s growth journey.
