Visit Qatar and Microsoft have solidified their partnership to advance digital innovation in tourism with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) officially signed at Web Summit Qatar 2025.

The MoU, QNA reported, was executed by Eng. Abdulaziz Ali Al Mawlawi, CEO of Visit Qatar, and Lana Khalaf, country manager of Microsoft, signifying the next stage in this collaborative effort.

Building on the success of the Visit Qatar GenAI Travel Concierge, which is powered by Microsoft Azure and OpenAI 4o and 4o mini, both organizations will explore groundbreaking technologies aimed at enhancing visitor experiences and transforming business practices.

The Smart Travel Assistant from Visit Qatar stands as a trailblazing innovation that seamlessly combines text, voice, content, a conversational virtual assistant, maps, and an interactive planning interface. This development has established new benchmarks for digital excellence in tourism.

In addition, Visit Qatar and Microsoft are in the process of crafting a comprehensive technology roadmap designed to improve the visitor experience through integrated smart and digital solutions. This initiative further underscores their commitment to leading the way in digital innovation in tourism.
