Italian offshore engineering and construction powerhouse Saipem has secured two offshore contracts in Saudi Arabia, totaling around $1 billion, under its ongoing long-term partnership with Saudi Aramco.
Under the first contract, Saipem is responsible for the engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) of three production deck modules, 33 kilometers of subsea rigid pipelines with diameters of 12 inches and 16 inches, as well as 34 kilometers of subsea power cables. This work will be carried out at the Marjan oil and gas field.

The second contract encompasses the EPCI of three jackets, five production deck modules, 22 kilometers of subsea rigid pipelines with a diameter of 16 inches, five kilometers of subsea flexible pipelines, and 35 kilometers of subsea power cables at the Zuluf and Safaniyah oil fields.
For the offshore aspects of these projects, Saipem will utilize its construction vessels currently operating in the region.
Fabrication tasks related to these projects will take place at Saipem’s Saudi fabrication facility, the Saipem Taqa Al-Rushaid Fabricators.
This marks Saipem’s second agreement with Saudi Aramco in just a few months. In July, the company obtained a contract for work on the Abu Safa, Berri, and Manifa fields in Saudi Arabia, valued at approximately $500 million.
