The richest man in the world, Elon Musk, seems to be getting richer every day and is on track to become the planet’s first trillionaire by 2024.

At least, that’s what he thinks.

According to the British media website Money, an enterprising video game character from the popular Nintendo Animal Crossing has already beaten the Tesla chief executive to the chase.

Tom Nook, the game’s unapologetic tough-guy business tycoon, was found to have combined assets totaling more than 245 trillion pounds.

That’s a lot of dough and makes the raccoon more than 1,276 times richer than Elon Musk.

The sums were calculated on the basis that one bell in Animal Crossing is worth about one Japanese yen, meaning that a fully kitted out three-story house in the game could run upwards of 35,552 pounds.
